Ulli is an award-winning marketing and brand strategy consultant with more than 20 years of experience. Born in Germany, he was raised in Africa, Belgium & France. He has lived in the US since 2002.
He’s held leading strategy roles at some of the largest advertising agencies in the world including BBDO, Leo Burnett, Fallon Worldwide, and SapientNitro. He
has contributed to
7 Effies and an ARF (Advertising Research Federation) Ogilvy award for
Excellence in Research.
In 2016, he founded brand strategy firm First The Trousers Then The Shoes Inc. working for brands including Post Consumer Brands and Land O Lakes (CPG), Double Good (online fundraising platform), Flexera & Anchore (software), Siemens and many more.
He has written extensively for the Huffington Post, is a regular contributor to various trade publications in the US and Europe, and has been a member of the Practitioner Council of the American Marketing Association. He is also the author of the best-selling “Brand Positioning Method Cards”.
He lives in Minneapolis, with his wife Nikki and 3 children Lola, Fynn and Leo. When he is not working or hanging out with this family, he likes to go a long- distance motorcycle rides.
